Lead & Inquiry Routing Automation
Contact and inquiry forms validated, throttled, and routed to the right inbox or webhook automatically.
Overview
Websites generate leads; inboxes lose them when forms spam or land in the wrong place. This project type wires public forms to server validation, honeypots, rate limits, and routing rules — email, multiple recipients by topic, or an HTTP webhook into CRM or Slack.
The portfolio site itself stores inquiries in the database and optionally emails the owner when notify settings are set. Client builds extend that pattern with custom fields and assignment rules.
Problem
Inquiries were emailed to one address with no audit trail, or bots filled the inbox with noise.
Solution
Persist every submission, throttle by IP, reject bots with a honeypot, and fan out notifications through a queue so a slow mail server does not block the visitor.
Architecture
HTTP POST to a controller, form request validation, database row, queued notification job. Optional webhook dispatch for integrations.
Challenges
Balancing spam protection with real customers on mobile networks that share IPs.
Outcomes
Every inquiry is searchable in admin. Routing rules can change without redeploying the public form.
